台灣留学時代に出会ったアンダーグラウンドミュージックシーンにてモダンテクノの洗礼を受け、日本に帰国後は、流れるままに東京を中心としたクラブ・野外レイヴシーンの虜に。サポーターやレポーターとして数々のイベントに携わり、東京のテクノシーンに潜り込む。Toss、Kaanaらと共にエレクトロニック・アンビエントミュージックにフォーカスしたコミュニティ ”LIMINAL DREAMS” を主宰している。“LIMINAL DREAMS”とは、60年代から脈絡のあるサイケデリックチルアウトカルチャーへのオマージュであり、現代における前衛電子音楽を融合させた風変わりな音楽マニアたちのコミュニティである。DJとしてのTonerは、強固なミニマリズムを持ったユーモラスな楽曲の奏者であり、ビートを超えた豊かなストーリーを奏でることのできるDJだ。
Toner encountered underground music scene in Taiwan while he studying there, and was awakened to modern techno. After returning to Japan, he became a captive of the club and rave scene around Tokyo. So it was natural progression to he has been involved in numerous events as a supporter and reporter, then he has infiltrated the Tokyo techno scene. Together with Toss and Kaana, he runs “LIMINAL DREAMS,” a community deeply focused on electronic ambient and outer music. “LIMINAL DREAMS” is homage to the psychedelic chill-out culture that has been around since the 60’s, and its community is for music enthusiasts of quirky contemporary electronic music. Toner as a DJ has a strong minimalism approach to his music. He is a humorous player and can weave a various story beyond the beat.
