伝説のアート・パンク・バンド、アーント・サリーの創設メンバーであり、1979年解散後はソロとして活動を続け、1980年に坂本龍一とのコラボレーション・シングルをリリース、1981年には、コニー・プランク、CANのホルガー・シューカイとヤキ・リーペツァイトと制作した1stソロ・アルバム『Phew』を発売。1992年、MUTEレーベルより発売された3rdアルバム『Our Likeness』は、再びコニー・プランクのスタジオにて、CANのヤキ・リーベツァイト、アインシュテュルツェンデ・ノイバウテンのアレックサンダー・ハッケ、そしてDAFのクリスロ・ハースと制作された。2010年代に入り、声と電子音楽を組み合わせた作品を次々に発売し、エレクトロニック・アーティストとしても世界的評価を高めた。また、アナ・ダ・シルヴァ（レインコーツ）、山本精一（ex.ボアダムス）等とのコラボレーション作品も発売。2021年10月、最新ソロ・アルバム『ニュー・ディケイド』はTraffic/Muteより世界発売。2022年4月にはDowser NとのDesktop Punkユニット106の1カセットを2本リリース、2023年2月にはTraffic/Muteから『Our Likeness』がリイシューされた。

She was a founding member of the legendary art-punk band Aunt Sally, and after the band broke up in 1979, she went on to work as a solo artist, releasing a collaborative single with Ryuichi Sakamoto in 1980. In 1992, her third album, Our Likeness, was released on the MUTE label, again at Connie Planck’s studio with Jaki Liebezeit of CAN, Alexander Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten, and Chrislo Haas of DAF. Since the beginning of the 2010s, she has released a series of works combining voice and electronic music, and has gained international acclaim as an electronic artist. She has also released collaborative works with Ana da Silva (Raincoats), Seiichi Yamamoto (ex. Boredoms), etc. In October 2021, her latest solo album “New Decade” was released worldwide on Traffic/Mute. In April 2022, Se released two cassettes of Desktop Punk with Dowser N Unit 106 released two 1-cassettes, and Our Likeness was reissued by Traffic/Mute in February 2023.
Her latest release in April 2025, is a lengthy radiophonic work written for a Glasgow FM radio station.
