DJ、トラックメイカーとして25年以上のキャリアを持ち、現在もシーンの最前線に立ち続ける日本のテクノを代表するアーティストの1人。
強靭なグルーヴをベースに、サウンドとフロアが呼応し合いながら展開する独特のDJスタイルは、未だ類稀な存在感を放っている。
フロアに直結したシンプルなグルーヴを好む姿勢は変わらないものの、ここ数年の”田中フミヤ”のプレイは、かつてKarafuto、Individual Orchestraといった名義で行ってきた実験的な音楽やハウスグルーヴへの取り組みが反映されている。
2010年からベルリンへと拠点を移し、欧州を中心に世界各国のパーティー、フェスにて活躍。その一方、自らがオーガナイズするパーティーCHAOSをベースに定期的に帰郷し日本での活動も続けている。
DJ and a track maker with a career span of over 25 years, he has been at the forefront of the field and is one of the major artists of Japanese Techno.
With his solid grooves drive the dance floors and interact with the dancers which is his DJ style, and taking you further to the time and space spontaneously created both ways. That his original style still makes his exceptional presence.
Nothing has changed for his love of the floor orientated simple grooves, but more house grooves or his previous works under the pseudonym of Karafuto and Individual Orchestra can be reflected in Fumiya Tanaka’s recent DJ set.
In 2010 he relocated to Berlin and has been based there since, and he plays parties and festivals worldwide.
He comes back to Japan regularly for his own organised party Chaos and other Japanese events.
